Ep.16 – Drew Anderson’s Cheesy Smash Burger
A simple, fast burger recipe with Drew’s own Sauerkraut and Pickles.

1 Package (1-2 lbs) Ground Beef (grass fed if possible) Depending on family appetite, ground beef quality can be between 1 to 2 lbs | |
1 tsp per lb of ground beef Oregano | |
1/2 tsp per lb of ground beef Quality Curry | |
1/2 lb per lb of ground beef Cheddar Cheese | |
1/2 tsp per lb of ground beef Kosher Salt | |
2 Cleveland Kitchen Pickles (per Burger) | |
5 Finger Pinch per burger Cleveland Kitchen Sauerkraut |
Directions

Prepare Burgers
Add the Salt, Oregano, Curry to a bowl with the ground beef.
Mix by hand to incorporate the spices.
Depending on preference, create balls of 1/4 to 1/2 pound per burger.
Mark as complete

Cook Smash Burgers
Heat Grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
Add 2 tbsp Olive Oil.
After a minute, place the balls of meat, well spaced, into the skillet.
With a large spatula or small plate, press/smash the burgers to 1/4 inch thick.
Turn after one minute. Place grated cheese on top of the burgers.
Turn off heat after one more minute.
Mark as complete

Plate Smash Burgers
With a spatula, place burgers on bread/bun of choice (or no bun).
Place a 5-finger pinch of sauerkraut or more on top of the burger.
Place 2 pickles on the side.
Optional: Serve with a side of greens dressed with an olive oil (2 thirds cup) and vinegar of choice (one third cup).
Serve and enjoy!
