On this episode we are grateful to have Celina Cunanan and one of her patients, Nevada. Nevada is a cancer survivor and battles Type 2 Diabetes. Her A1C numbers are down after her Food for Life experience at University Hospitals, and she now knows how to better cook for herself and her six children. Celina is the Chief Diversity, Equity and Belonging Officer at University Hospitals and has been working with UH’s Food for Life program. On this episode we’ll cover wide range of topics from solving chronic disease with food; food insecurity solutions including access, cooking-classes, dietitians; reducing the need for medications with healthy eating; cooking and eating as a family; and mothers leading by example.
